More vulnerable children in Norfolk supported to remain with their families

A £12-£15 million five-year programme to transform support for children and young people is enabling more youngsters to remain with their families, statistics published recently reveal.

National statistics reveal the number of children looked after by Norfolk County Council’s Children’s Social Care, compared with rising rates in England.

The new figures show that up until 31 March 2020 there were 1,106 children under the age of 18 being looked after in Norfolk, which means 64 in every 10,000 children. This compares with a national figure of 67 per 10,000.
