William has represented the Dereham North and Scarning Division since 2013. He has campaigned to enhance public open spaces in the local area and secured funding for highway related improvements – including traffic calming measures, bus shelters, footways and signs.
Within County Hall he has served as Chairman of the Norfolk Police and Crime Panel since 2017, scrutinising and supporting the role and responsibilities of Norfolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner. William lives and works on the family farm at East Bilney. Born and raised in Norfolk, he was educated locally at Neatherd High School and Dereham Sixth Form College.
My Three Priorities
Elected in May 2013, I have worked tirelessly on behalf of residents in Dereham and Scarning. I have campaigned to achieve County Wildlife Site Status for Neatherd Moor and Etling Green. Working with Dereham Town and Scarning Parish Councils, I have secured funding from the County Council’s Parish Partnership Scheme for local Highway improvements – including traffic calming measures, new footways and bus stop upgrades.
At County Hall, I have served on the Adult Social Care Committee and the Environment, Transport and Development Committee. I also represent Breckland on Norfolk’s Police and Crime Panel.
I live on the family farm at East Bilney. I was born and raised in Norfolk, educated at Neatherd High School and Dereham Sixth Form College and then read History at Newcastle University. I have helped to fund-raise for various charities including the Royal British Legion and the friends of Dereham Hospital.
