Claire Bowes

Watton

Claire has served as County Councillor for Watton Division for six years and is very proud to represent it’s community, the amazing spirit of which was demonstrated as individuals, community organisations and businesses supported the vulnerable and each other whilst adapting to a global pandemic.

As the Government’s vaccination programme frees us from the chains of Covid, Claire believes we must likewise make the most of our opportunities to free us from the trade restrictions that being part of the EU brought and to rebuild the local economy in a sustainable way.

Claire is very pleased to support County Council initiatives, which provide capital grants for businesses and it’s work with employers to offer apprenticeship programmes.

Road safety is a particular concern of Claire’s and she has used her Members’ Highway’s Budget to finance schemes to help reduce speeding on streets across the Division. To that end Claire has supported Parish Councils in the delivery of highways projects, such as 20mph Wig Wag signs outside Caston and Westfield schools and the future provision of a central pedestrian refuge and extension of the 30mph limit on Norwich Road, Carbrooke.
